The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Moscow is still preparing a plan to rescue Indonesian citizens (WNI) in Russia. Even though the Indonesian citizen in the Red Bear Country is still in a safe condition.

The Directorate for the Protection of Indonesian Citizens at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) Judha Nugraha said Indonesian citizens in Russia were not affected by partial mobilization. "But according to the procedure, the Indonesian Embassy will always update the contingency plan," he told Pro3 RRI, Saturday (24/9/2022).

Preparations are made if one day, the Russo-Ukrainian war heats up, and it is deemed dangerous for the safety of Indonesian citizens. In this regard, the Indonesian Embassy in Moscow continues to communicate intensely with Indonesian citizens in Russia.

"Communications continue to be carried out by the Indonesian Embassy in Moscow with the Indonesian community in Russia," he said. "We will continue to communicate, and monitor their condition there."

Based on the monitoring results, continued Judha, Indonesian citizens in Russia are still carrying out normal activities, without any restrictions from local authorities. "Because those affected by the partial mobilization policy are only Russian citizens," he said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on partial mobilization that began on Wednesday this week. Putin said the decree was aimed at "liberating" the Donbass region of Ukraine, and claimed residents of the region.

Partial mobilization is only for Russian citizens who are currently in reserve status, who will be subject to military service. Partial mobilization is also for those who serve in the armed forces, have certain military specialties, as well as relevant experience. (RRI)
