Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto welcomed the arrival of all G20 Sherpa delegations virtually. The Sherpa Track is a workstream in the G20 in addition to the Finance Track which discusses global challenges and various non-financial economic issues.

"The Sherpa Track aims to find solutions and provide recommendations on the agenda and priority issues of the G20," said the Coordinating Minister, Sunday (11/13/2022). This fourth G20 Sherpa meeting will be the last meeting to welcome the G20 Summit in Bali.

A G20 Sherpa meeting has also been held to prepare the best version of the 'Leaders' Declaration'. Later this will be brought and determined by the Heads of State and Government of the G20 member countries at the Summit.

The Leaders' Declaration is a commitment by the G20 leaders to joint efforts in economic and health recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic. The draft declaration contains a number of substances for discussing the priorities of the Indonesian G20 Presidency.

These include global health architecture, digital transformation, and energy transition. The declaration will also discuss the issue of food security which is a global issue today.

As a representative of a developing country and the only member from Southeast Asia, Airlangga considers inclusiveness to be very important for Indonesia. The Coordinating Minister also asked the G20 member countries to help each other through difficult times like now.

According to him, the key is to strike a balance. "With the 2030 Sustainable Development agenda as a guide, we must consider the most effective solution for this crisis," said Airlangga.

The Coordinating Minister added that all these discussions will endorse concrete deliverables. This is in accordance with President Joko Widodo's direction so that the G20 Indonesia Presidency can produce real benefits for the community.

In addition, it is also Indonesia's legacy for the G20 and increases Indonesia's role and profile at the G20 Forum. "Leaders rely on you (G20 Sherpa) for wisdom, solutions, and innovation for the recovery of the global economy," said the Coordinating Minister. (RRI)
