The government will provide stimulants for post-earthquake settlement assistance in Pasaman Regency and West Pasaman Regency, West Sumatra. Stimulant aid will be focused on urgent needs, namely housing.

The Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy requested that this handling effort be carried out as soon as possible. "Both by the regional and central government," said Muhadjir in his official statement in Jakarta, Saturday (9/24/2022).

The stimulant aid that will be given to Pasaman Regency is IDR 28.8 billion with a total of 564 housing units and Kab. West Pasaman reached Rp. 60.6 billion with a total of 1,212 housing units.

In addition to settlements, several other public infrastructure facilities are prioritized, namely schools, health centers, and places of worship. Only after the repair of settlements and public facilities has been completed, the government will repair other public facilities.

"We will finish the settlements first, then we will go to other public facilities which can temporarily be postponed or seconded. After the facilities that are really needed can run well," said Muhadjir.

Muhadjir asked for the acceleration of the preparation of the Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Plan (R3P) document. Until its determination includes the preparation of a post-disaster needs assessment (JITUPASNA).

“Everything must follow the Earthquake Resistant House (RTG) standard and cover all existing schemes. Either reimburse, self-help or use the applicator. BNPB will follow up on it to the Ministry of Finance," said Muhadjir.

Meanwhile, Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Lt. Gen. Suharyanto said that previously a number of aids had been provided since the emergency response. Among these are DSP funding assistance of Rp. 500 million for West Pasaman Regency and Rp. 845 million for Pasaman.
